A B S T R A C T There is provided a novel class of 8-substituted theophylline salts of the formula: (II) wherein n is an integer of from 2 to 6; R and R' are inde-pendently C1-C4 alkyl; and Z is a biologically compatible counter ion, these compounds are useful as reagents in an irreversible enzyme inhibitor immunoassay for theophylline. |
