titleOfInvention | Installation for a continuously variable control of the amplitude of a sinusoidal electrical alternating current |
abstract | ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Installation for a continuously variable control of the amplitude of an essential sinusoidal electrical alternating current flowing in a circuit with a final control element lying in this circuit and means for actuating the final control ele-ment. The installation shows in electrical respect, in parti-cular with regard to low active power losses, low distortion factors and relatively large control ranges, similary favourable characteristics as those of the well-known regulating transform-ers, in contrast to these however permits an almost instanta-neous continously variable electronic control. The final con-trol element comprises a parallel connection of a first and a second current branch with an inductive resistance in the first current branch and a controllable switching member in the second current branch switchable into an off- and an on-state. The means for actuating the final control element com-prise controlling means for switching the switching member in each half-wave of the alternating current over a variable and by the controlling means controllable part of the half-wave from the off-state into the on-state. |
