ABSTRACT DESCRIPTION The present invention relates to the preparation of 2-amino-5-phenyl-benzodiazepines-1,3 represented by the formula in which R1 and R2 are hydrogen, a halogen atom, an alkyl or alkoxy radical, R2 possibly occupying one any of the possible positions on the aromatic nucleus; R3 is hydrogen or an alkyl radical and then R4 is hydrogen, an alkyl, cycloalkyl, arylalkyl radical, heteroarylalkyl, dialkoylaminoethyl, dialkoylaminopropyl, (1-ethyl-2-pyrrolidino) methyl, dialkoylamino, alkoxy-carbonyl or cyano or else R3 and R4 form with the atom of adjacent nitrogen a heterocycle having 5 to 7 members, con-possibly holding another heteroatom chosen from oxygen, sulfur or nitrogen, the latter being substituted by an alkyl group. These compounds are useful in human medicine as antidepressants in the treatment depressive states and mental disorders. |
