abstract | PRECISION OF DISCLOSURE: The present application relates to new compounds aromatic polyimides with solubility high in many organic solvents and excellent adhesive properties. These compositions are made in reacting an aromatic diamine with a tetra-ester or a diacid diester derived from benzhydrol acid tetracarbo-xylic -3.3 ', 4.4', the reaction being continued until obtaining an inherent viscosity of at least 0/1 dl / g and not more than 2 dl / g, this viscosity being measured in the N-methylpyrrolidone at 30 ° C, for a concentration of 5g of composition per liter of N-methylpyrrolidone. The composi-tions thus obtained can be used as a binder in the manufacture of composite materials, such as insulating varnish for coating and enameling metallic conductors, as a basis for the preparation of adhesive compositions, foam and cellular materials and as protective films capable of withstanding high temperatures. |
