abstract Abstract of the Disclosure The disclosed electrochemical device uses an electrochemical cell having a solid electrolyte carrying first and second electric conductors in contact therewith, and an alternating current is applied to one or both of the electric conductors for heating the electrochemical cell by the conductor heated by the alternating current, so that the thus heated cell detects or controls concen-tration of a specific component of a fluid in contact therewith. A method of operating the same is also disclosed.
