titleOfInvention | Energy measuring process and apparatus |
abstract | ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to an apparatus and to a process for measuring the energy supplied in particular by a pulsed laser beam. The apparatus comprises a material having a high dipole moment and freely orientable dipoles. This material is able to absorb the energy supplied by the beam, the interaction of the beam and the material leading to a temperature rise in the latter, which is proportional to the energy absorbed. This leads to a variation in the dielectric constant of the material. In addition, means are provided which make it possible to measure the variation of the dielectric constant. (Fig 2).
