ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An agent, based on reducing agents and complexing agents, for dissolving insoluble iron(III) compounds in aqueous textile treatment baths which are at a pH of 10 or more, which agent has the following composition: a) from 4 to 65% by weight of one or more water-soluble hydroxycarbonyl compound or of an N- or O-acetal thereof, as the reducing agent, b) from 10 to 80% by weight of one or more complexing agent which complexes Fe++ ions at a pH of 10 or more and c) water in an amount equal to 100% minus the amounts of a) and b). |
