titleOfInvention Heavy breaking giant excavating equipment
abstract HEAVY BREAKING GIANT EXCAVATING EQUIPMENT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A strip mining shovel for strip mining of structurally, relatively weak materials which are difficult to mine, such as, rock beds or alternate layers of coal and rock or shale. The shovel has a small dipper arrangement connected to a dipper stick arrangement which dipper stick is connected to the end of a heavy main swivelable boom. The dipper stick assembly with the dipper preferably has a hydraulically actuated arrangement for movement thereof which movement is limited in range. Therefore, small limited movements of the dipper arrangement and dipper stick assembly excavate limited loads from the area being stripped and deposited them into a hopper which then speeds the strip material onto a conveyor belt system which is mounted on the main swivelable boom. The conveyor belt system transfers the strip material to the inboard end of the main boom where the material is graded and crushed, and ultimately made available for loading onto appropriate vehicles.
