abstract | S P E C I F I C A T I O N To All Whom It May Concern: BE IT KNOWN THAT we, Kazuya Takada, Shigeyuki Toyama and Yoshihiko Numata, Japanese citizens residing at 9-19, Matsugae-cho, Sagamihara-shi, Kanagawa-ken, 9 Japan, 15-311 Dream Height, 1403, Matano-cho, Totsuka-ku, Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa-ken, Japan and 9-19, Matsugae-cho, Sagamihara-shi, Kanagawa-ken, Japan, respectively, have invented certain new and useful improvements in: " BASIC ALUMINUM SULFATE AND PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF " of which the following is a specification. Abstract of the Disclosure A process for producing basic aluminum sulfate of the general formula A?(OH)a(S04)b nH20 wherein a, b and n are positive numbers satisfying a + 2b=3, 2.30 ? a ? 2.56, 0.22 ? b ? 0.35 and O ? n ? 10, which comprises reacting a water-soluble basic aluminum salt of the general formula A?(OH)cXd wherein X represents a monovalent anion, and c and d are positive numbers satisfying c + d = 3 and 0.5 ? c ? 2.55, with a water-soluble sulfuric acid salt in an aqueous medium at a temperature of less than 90°C. This process gives novel basic aluminum sulfate which is either fibrous, spherical or prismatic depending upon the reaction conditions. |
