abstract SHORT The invention relates to novel compounds corresponding to the general formula: (I) in which R is fixed in position 2 or 4 on the cycle of the quinoline and denotes a hydrogen atom or a group: py-ridyl, phenyl or substituted phenyl, X is fixed in position 5, 6, 7 or 8 on the quinoline cycle and designates an atom hydrogen or halogen or an alkoxy group having 1 to 4 ato-carbon, R1 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkenyl having 3 or 4 carbon atoms carbon, or arylalkyl, the alkyl part of which comprises 1 to 3 carbon atoms, A is a group CO, CHOH or CH2, n and p are equal to 1 or 2, the group is fixed in position 2, 3 or 4 on the quinoline cycle and the group is fixed in position 2 or 3 on the nitrogen heterocycle, their diastereoisomers, racemates and enantiomers, and their addition salts with pharmaceutically acceptable mineral or organic acids. The compounds according to the invention are useful in particular as anti-arrhythmic, hypnotic, anticonvulsant and for treatment states of anxiety and various psychoneurotic states.
