Preparation of stable aqueous dispersions of polyolefin fibers |
abstract |
PREPARATION OF STABLE AQUEOUS DISPERSIONS OF POLYOLEFIN FIBERS Abstract of the Disclosure Stable aqueous dispersions of polyolefin fibers are formed by contacting the fibers with an aqueous solution of a cationic copolymer of an acrylamide and an acrylate or methac-rylate ester, the pH of the aqueous solution having been adjusted to be in the range of from about 9.5 to about 12 either prior to, during or after contacting the fibers with said solution. An exemplary copolymer is that formed by the copolymerization of acrylamide and .beta.-methacryloyloxyethyltri-methylammonium methyl sulfate. |
