Abstract A process for the preparation of a peptide of the formula X-Glu-Asn-OH wherein X is H, H-Ala-, H Glu-Ala-, H-Glu-Glu-Ala-, H-Val-Glu-Glu-Ala- or H-Val-Val-Glu-Glu-Ala-and of pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof,charac-terized in that the protecting groups of a compound of formula Y-Glu(OR1)-Asn-OR2 II wherein Y is A, A-Ala-, A-Glu(OR1)-Ala-, A-Glu(OR1)-Glu(OR1)-Ala-, A-Val-Glu(OR1)-Glu(OR1)-Ala- or A-Val-Val-Glu(OR1)-Glu(OR1)-Ala-; A is hydrogen or a conventional .alpha.-amino protecting group and R1 and R2 are conventional carboxy protecting groups, are removed in a manner known per se and, if desired, the product obtained is converted into a pharmaceutically acceptable salt. These novel peptides exhibit activity in the regulation, differentiation and function of T-cells. |
