abstract ABSTRACT This invention relates to the use of pyrldoxine .alpha.-kctoglutarate in the prophylasxis of all those physiological conditions for which is known the possibility of a hyperlacticacidaemic state arising or which are sustained by such state as well as in all those pathological cases for the therapy of which drugs are administered which cause an increase of blood lactic acid, both in human and veterinary medicine. The inven-tlon also concerns pharmaceutical compositions character-ized in that they contain a pharmacologically effective amount of pyridoxine .alpha.-ketoglutarate together with the usual inert non-toxic vehicles.
