abstract | ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The invention relates to a process for preparing the compounds of formula: (I) wherein R represents a C1-8 (preferably C1-5) alkyl radical, a phenyl radical (which phenyl radical is unsubstituted or substituted by one or more members of the class consisting of halogen atom, C1-5 alkyl groups and C1-5 alkoxy groups), a thienyl radical or a pyridyl radical; R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, each represents a hydrogen or halo-gen atom or a C1-8 (preferably C1-5) alkyl, C1-8 (preferably C1-5) alkoxy, cyclohexyl, phenoxy or nitro radical; and R3 represents a C1-8 alkoxy or C1-8 alkylthio radical; and acid addition salts thereof. The compounds (I) and their salts show interesting anxiolytic pharmacological activity. Phar-maceutical compositions containing the compounds are de-scribed, together with compounds useful as intermediates in such processes. |
