abstract | Abstract of the Disclosure A devolatilized room temperature vulcanizable silicone rubber composition comprising a silanol polymer, a plasticizing fluid, a cross-linking agent, a curing promoter and optionally, a filler wherein the plasticizing fluid and the silanol polymer are devolatilized prior to being mixed to form the room temperature vulcanizable silicone rubber composition by heating them at temperatures of at least 200°C under vacuum for at least 5 minutes. If there is utilized a filler and the filler is treated with cyclopolysiloxanes or silaxanes, then preferably the filler is also devolatilized. |
