titleOfInvention Process for the upgrading of the olefinicic c.sub.4 cuttings
abstract PRECISION OF DISCLOSURE: The subject of the invention is an improvement to a recovery process of the C4 cut from a cracking or steam cracking unit. This perfects consists in subjecting the C4 olefinic cut not to a simple polymerization reaction, but to a coupling of a polymerization reaction and an isomeric reaction sation, coupling which consists not only in obtaining a selective transformation of isobutene into C8 dimers and trimers C12, but also to cause the displacement of the butene-1 double bond with therefore transformation of the most of butene-1 into butenes-2, to reach, under the operating conditions and with the catalysts chosen, a composition fairly close to that which corresponds to the equi-thermodynamic free. The other constituents of the charge are not substantially transformed during the reaction isomerization. This transformation of butene-1 into butenes-2 is of primary interest for the alkylation reaction after fractionation of the isomerization effluent, because the products obtained by alkylation of butenes-2 have an octane number significantly higher than that of alkylates butene-1.
