abstract | Abstract: Process for preparing malononitrile Disclosed is a process for preparing malononitrile which comprises reacting diazoacetonitrile with hydrogen cyanide in the presence of a copper com-pound in a solvent. The diazoacetonitrile may be formed in a reaction mixture by reacting aminoaceto-nitrile with nitrous acid in a solvent, which is then subjected to the further reaction as such without isolating it from the reaction mixture. |
