titleOfInvention Device for fitting filters to cigarettes
abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed herein is a device for fitting filters to cigarettes by means of glued jointing bands, in which a peri-perally grooved carrier roller transfers groups of two ciga-rettes aligned axially with the interposition of a filter cut-ting, to a rolling position. In the region of the said rol-ling position, a counter-rolling element defines, through one of its fixed counter-rolling surfaces and in combination with the cylindrical surface of the said carrier roller, a passage in the region of which the rolling of the bands around the groups of cigarettes takes place. The said counter-rolling element is provided with at least two counter-rolling sur-faces which, in turn, can be carried into the rolling position. Cleansing means clean the counter-rolling surfaces momentarily not in use for the rolling of the groups of cigarettes.
