PRECISION OF DISCLOSURE: The subject of the present invention is a process for hydrogenation selective selection of a fraction of C2 and / or C3 hydrocarbons closing both at least one mono-olefinic hydrocarbon and at least one acetylenic hydrocarbon and optionally also at least one diolefinic hydrocarbon, for the purpose of hydrogenating selectively acetylenic hydrocarbon and hydrocarbon diolefinic, without substantial hydrogenation of the hydrocarbon mono olefinic, wherein said fraction and hydrogen come into contact with a palladium on alumina catalyst.
