abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE. This invention relates to compounds of the formula (I): (I) in which : n is an integer from 1 to 5 inclusive, R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-4 alkanoyl group, R2 represents a hydroqen atom, a C1-4 alkanoyl group, or a C1 4 alkyl group, R3 represents a hydrogen atom, a group of the formula or of the formula -CONHR6, in which : R4 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-4 alkanoyl group, R5 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-4 alkanoyl group, or a C1-4 alkyl group, R6 represents a hydrogen atom or a C1-4 alkyl group, R7 represents a hydrogen atom or a methyl group, and their C1-4 alkyl esters and their salts with pharmaceutically acceptable bases. Said compounds are useful as X-ray contrast media.
