titleOfInvention Cationic fortified rosin size
abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An acid-fortified rosin is reacted with a water--soluble polyalkylenepolyamine. The product is a modified rosin polyamldopolyamine. The product can be partially or completely neutralized with a rosin, thereby forming a rosin soap of the polyamidopolyamine. The product can be emulsi-fied in water, and are cationic, anionic or non-ionic depend-ing on the pH of the water. The emulsions are sizing agents for paper.
