Preparing ceramic material pellets |
abstract |
ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: The present invention is concerned with a process for preparing pellets of ceramic material having controlled physical and mechanical properties which comprises the steps of: (a) converting an aqueous solution containing said ceramic material in the form of its metal salt and a gelling agent into gel particles by adding said solution to a precipita-tion medium; (b) thermally conditioning said particles in a . controlled atmosphere at a temperature between 400°C and 1200°C; and (c) cold pelletizing said thermally conditioned particles and sintering them at a temperature of from about 500°C to about 1750°C. |
