titleOfInvention | Powder composition, method of preparation and glass bottle coated therewith |
abstract | ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A powder composition having good melt flow properties under zero shear conditions is made by (1) melt blending a thermoplastic elastomer, e.g., a block copolymer of styrene and hydrogenated butadiene, and a melt flow modifier, e.g., a partially hydrogenated styrene/alpha methyl styrene random copolymer, (2) cooling the blend to form a solid; (3) pelletizing the solid blend and (4) grinding the pellets to the desired particle size. Non-tacky powder compositions are made by dry blending the pellets of (3) with a melt flow modifier having a glass transition temperature of at least 20°C. and grinding the blend to the desired particle size. The tacky and non-tacky powder compositions are useful in the coating of glass bottles. particularly to produce glass bottles which are fragment retentive. |
