abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process is provided for inhibidng the formation of deposits in the course of pulping lignocellulosic material and in the treating of cellulose pulp, by addition to the cellulose pulping or treating process of a compound of a polyvalent metal selected from the group consisting of aluminum and iron complexing deposit-forming anions, thereby maintaining the deposit-forming anions in the form of a liquor-soluble complex.
