titleOfInvention | Antistatic method and apparatus |
abstract | ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Static charge accretion as a result of particle handling is prevented or reduced by contacting the particles with an ionized noble gas. Particularly beneficial results are obtained by contacting dried, particulate animal body fluid with an ionized gas while conducting sieving, blending or dispensing operations. Apparatus for contacting the ionized gas with particles so as to control static charge accumulation employs a flow-through ionized gas, preferrably a noble gas, in which ionization takes place outside of the apparatus particle treatment region. |
