abstract | ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Alpha, omega-siloxanediols are prepared from alpha, omega-discyl-oxysiloxanes by heating the siloxanes with an aqueous solution of sodium bicarbonate, sodium carbonate, sodium sesquicarbonate, potassium bicarbon-ate, potassium carbonate or ammonium hydroxide having a pH of from 8 to 11 to a temperature of at least 50°C. the alpha, omega-siloxanediols so formed are effective antstructive agents (softener fluids) for silicone rubber. |
