titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of a gel resistant glycol composition
abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Glycol compositions useful as antifreeze com-positions, are prepared containing borates and silicates together with other corrosion inhibitors. The silicates are added to the glycol compositions after the other additives have been added and after the composition, has been adjusted to a pH range of 9.5-10.5 in order to give maximum gellation resistance. The compositions prepared by this process have a shelf life of 2-3 years without resulting in gellation of the composition.
