DIRECT CASTING METHOD FOR PRODUCING LOW-STRESS GLASS/PLASTIC COMPOSITES Abstract of the Disclosure A glass-plastic composite combining a glass element with a high-shrinkage thermosetting plastic is provided in accordance with a direct casting process comprising a con-solidation heating step, subsequent to plastic curing and shrinkage, during which a thermoplastic coating between the glass element and the cured plastic bonds the assembly into a unitary low-stress composite. |
