abstract TEXTILE CONDITIONING COMPOSITIONS CONTAINING POLYMERIC CATIONIC MATERIALS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A textile conditioning composition intended for use in the final rinse after a washing operation comprises a cationic textile softening agent and a small amount of a polymeric cationic salt of specified type, and optionally a substantially water insoluble nonionic textile softening agent the weight ratio of nonionic textile softener to cationic components being in the ratio no greater than 10:1. Preferably, the compositions are in the form of an aqueous dispersion and contain a water-insoluble cationic surfactant in combination with a cationic polysaccharide. Especially useful compositions are based on di-tallow quaternary ammonium or imidazolinium salts and cationic guar gums.
