abstract | ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE 1,3-Dicarbonyl compounds and process for their preparation of the general formula wherein R1 represents an alkyl group of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, which may be substituted by a hydroxyl group; R2 and R4 represent a hydrogen atom; R3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group of 1 to 12 carbon atoms, which may be substituted by a hydroxyl group; RA represents an alkyl group of 1 to 12 carbon atoms or a phenyl group, each of which may be substituted by a carboxyl or lower alkoxycarbonyl group; and RB represents an alkyl. alkenyl or alkynyl group, each of which has up to 12 carbon atoms and may be sub-stituted by a hydroxyl group; and R1 and R3 may additionally together represent an alkylene group of 2 to 4 carbon atoms, which may be substituted by a hydroxyl group. These compounds, particularly those derived from cyclopentanone and cyclohexanone have hypotensive activity. |
