abstract | ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relaten to high-molecular weight arcwatic polycarbonates, based on diphenols and monofunctional chain stoppers, correnponding to the formula (I) (I) in which z denotes the radical of a diphenol, n denotes an integer from about 20 to 400, E denotes wherein m denotes 0 or 1 and R denotes H or C1-C3-alkyl. The present invention also relaten to a process for the preparation of the polycarbonatgs of the formula (I) com-prising reacting diphenols of the formula (II) HO - Z - OH (II) wherein z is a divalent aromatic radical, and/or their chlorocarbonic acid eacers in accordance with the processes which are known for the preparation of poly-carbonates, in a homogeneous or heterogeneous phase system, with compounds of the formula(III) (III) wherein m denotes D or 1 and R denotes H or C1-C3-alkyl. The prevent invention also relates to a process for cross-linking the polycarbonates of the formula (I) with UV light, after adding a photoinltlator and, optionally, flameproofing and photo-reducing agents. Finally, the present invention relates to tha cross-linked polycarbonates obtalned via this process. |
