abstract | PRECISION OF DISCLOSURE: New flame-resistant copolyesters consist essentially of: - 85% to 99.5% of recurrence patterns of formula -CO-R-CO-O-R1-O- in which R is an aromatic radical, R1 a radical aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, or divalent cyclanic or a mixture of two or more of these radicals, - at least 0.5% of formula units: in which R 'is a lower alkyl group and R "a aliphatic, aromatic or arylaliphatic radical, - 0 to 14.5% of units derived from a compound of formula: in which R2 is zero or represents a group -SO2-, -CH2- or -O- and A and A 'represent either groups -CO-OX with X = H or a lower alkyl group, i.e. groups -X'OH with X '= group? OCH2-CH2? n and n = 1 to 10. From such copolyesters are advantageously usable for obtaining textile yarns and fibers, films and molded articles or extruded. |
