titleOfInvention Process for the polymerization of vinyl halides in the presence of an alkylene bis-(mercaptoalkanoate)
abstract Abstract of the Disclosure Vinyl halide polymers of relatively low molecular weight result when a monomer component that comprises a vinyl halide is polymerized in the presence of a free radical generating polymerization initiator and a molecular weight regulating agent that is an alkylene bis-(mercaptoalkanoate), such as ethylene bis-(mercaptoacetate). These low molecular weight polymers sho? improved extrusion and molding properties: particularly elevated temperatures which effects on product strength and colour are avoided.
