abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides gona-4,9(10)-dienes of general formula I (I) where R is an alkyl radical with 1 to 3 carbon atoms and X stands for Cl, Br, F, N3, SCN, CN, OH, OR (R = alkyl), NH2, a substituted amino group or a nitrogenous heterocyclic group, these compounds have valuable biological properties, especially their hormonal and antihormonal effect and can be used to advantage in pharmaceutical preparations for the treatment of endocrinopathies and for reproduction control with human beings and livestock. These gona-4,9(10)-dienes according to formula I stated above, in terms of biological effects are superior to comparable known compounds for such therapy.
