titleOfInvention Magnetically suspended rotary bodies
abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A special arrangement of the constituent means of magnetically suspended rotary bodies which are common both to rotary bodies utilizing kinetic energy such as satellite momentum wheels and to those utilizing the rotary speed such as centrifuges and turbines. The rotary body comprises two passive radial magnetic centering means, two possible eddy current dampers, an active axial magnetic centering means, two emergency support systems, a drive motor, a velocity sensor, and a motor switching sensor, all these members being thrown to the maximum permitted axial limits, the useful part being arranged optionally inside or outside the rotary wall. The invention permits the implantation of active elements of the rotor part, whether the latter is in an internal or external configuration.
