titleOfInvention Maintaining the effectiveness of a coating composition
abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In a process wherein a resinous coating is formed on a ferriferous surface by immersing the surface in an acidic aqueous coating composition prepared from dispersed particles of resin, HF and FeF3 wherein said composition forms on said surface a resinous coating which increases in thickness the longer the surface is immersed in the compo-sition and wherein as the composition is used to coat additional surfaces, it begins to form thinner coatings or it destabilizes, the improvement comprising maintaining the effectiveness of said composition by adding thereto an oxidizing agent which is effective in oxidizing ferrous iron.
