ABSTRACT The novel compounds of formula I wherein R is hydrogen, methyl or chlorine, R1 is oxygen or sulphur, R2 is OCH2, CH20CH2, OC2H40CH2, R3 is hydrogen or methyl, n and p are 0 or 1 and n + p is 0 or 1 and salts thereof have a very powerful anti-depressive activity which for a considerable part, and in some substances even entirely, is based on serotonine potentiation. Monoamino oxidase inhibition does not contribute to the anti-depressive effect. The substances have a low toxicity and are substantially free from side effects. The compounds can be synthesiz-ed and processed to compositions according to known methods. |
