titleOfInvention | Production of plural-coated article |
abstract | PRODUCTION OF PLURAL-COATED ARTICLE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An abrasion and corrosion resistant plural coated article is formed by coating the surface of a substrate with a base coat composition, curing the same, vapor depositing a layer of metal on the surface of the base coat composition, coating the metal bearing surface with a top coat composition and curing the top coat composition to form a film by exposure to radiation. The top coat composition includes a saturated thermoplastic vinyl polymer, vinyl solvent monomers and 1 to 15 parts per 100 parts of vinyl polymer and solvent monomers of a triester of phosphoric acid bearing one or more sites of vinyl unsaturation. |
