abstract | ABSTRACT: The invention relates to a method of manufacturing a cathode ray tube for displaying coloured pictures, in particular the colour selection means, which are manufactured from single plates which are secured together with the interposition of an insulator so that the plates do not contact each other and in which at least one of the plates, prior to the plates being secured together, is provided with a relief pattern which is composed of substantially parallel ridges between which a number of strip-shaped regions are present in which the plate(s) has (have) a much smaller thickness than at the area of the ridges and the material of said strip-shaped regions is removed after being secured together. In this manner colour selection means can be obtained with which refocusing in the cathode ray tube and an associated brighter picture can be obtained. |
