abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention relates to 1,4-dihydropyridines and processes for their preparation of the formula I wherein R1 represents phenyl, or phenyl substituted with nitro, tri-fluoromethyl, or dimethylaminosulfamyl; R2 and R3 each independently represent hydrogen, an alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a phenyl group; R4 represents an alkyl group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a phenyl group; R5 represents an alkoxy group of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, dimethyl-aminoethoxy, or piperidino; and n is 1 or 2, such as the compounds 2,6-dimethyl-3-carbomethoxy-5-methylsulphonyl-4-(2-trifluoromethylphenyl)-1,4-dihydro-pyridine and to the 2,6-dimethyl-3-carbomethoxy-5-methylsulphonyl-4-)2-nitrophenyl)-1,4-dihydropyridine. They have an antihyperentisive activity.
