abstract | PROCESS FOR THE MANUFACTURE OF DIAMINO NAPHTHALENE ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Diamino naphthalene having the formula wherein R1 is hydrogen or amino is prepared by treating dinitro naphthalene having the formula wherein R2 is hydrogen or nitro with hydrogen in the presence of hydrogenation catalysts and organic solvents having the formula wherein R3 is hydrogen, halogen or alkyl; R4 is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl, hydroxy, alkoxy, amino, alkylamino, or dialkyl amino; R5 is hydrogen, chlorine, alkyl, hydroxy, alkoxy, amino, alkyl-amino or dialkyl amino; R6 and R7 are the same or different and are either hydrogen or alkyl or together form a -(CH2)4 group, optionally substituted once or several times by methyl and/ethyl. |
