titleOfInvention | Multiple metal deactivators, method for preparing, and use thereof |
abstract | ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention relates to a method for retarding the oxidative degradation of hydrocarbon fuels and other liquid hydrocarbon mixtures. The method provides a metal deactivating composition which will suppress not only the ability of solubilized copper to catalyze oxidative degradation in the fuels, but that of other trace metals such as manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel and chromium. The reaction product is obtained by condensing one mole of an aliphatic polyamine containing at least two primary amino groups with approxi-mately one mole of an ortho-hydroxy substituted aromatic aldehyde and approximately one mole of an aliphatic beta-diketone. |
