titleOfInvention | Solid state latching relay |
abstract | ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A solid state latching relay has an electromagnetic circuit with an HE-IC located in the gap of the circuit and connected to a control circuit. The magnetic circuit contains sufficient remanent magnetic material that once magnetized to the operate point of the HE-IC by a DC current pulse in the coil, the remanent material acts as a memory to keep the HE-IC turned on. A DC pulse in the coil of the opposite polarity turns the HE-IC off or reverses the polarity of its output. THis gives the control circuit two output states, one for each state of the HE-IC. |
