Abstract of the Disclosure Aromatic urethanes suitable for use as starting materials in the production of agricultural chemicals, isocyanates and polyurethanes, are obtained in high yield without corrosion of a stainless steel reactor by interacting an aromatic nitro compound, an organic compound having at least one hydroxyl group and carbon monoxide, in the presence of a catalyst compound of 1) palladium, ruthenium or rhodium or a compound thereof, 2) a Lewis acid, and 3) a tertiary amine. |
