abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Refractory mixes and unfired refractory bricks consisting of magnesia or a mixture of magnesia and chrome ore and boric acid as binder, wherein they contain as a binder a mixture of boric acid and a water-soluble polyhydric alcohol. The mix provides a satisfactory bond even at low and medium temperatures in contrast to prior known mixes and further provides a bond with the aid of substances which are satisfactory from the health aspect.
