titleOfInvention Recovery of nickel and other metals from sulphide ores
abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process of overcoming difficulties encountered in the acid leaching of nickel or other valuable metal sulphide ores or concentrates in which the valuable metal sulphide is associated with sulphide minerals having a lesser reactivity with the acid leaching agent than the valuable metal sulphide. The process comprises the step of heating the ore or concentrate with a reducing agent within the temperature range of 600°-900°C, preferably 700°-800°C, prior to the leaching treatment.
