titleOfInvention | Deuteration of organic compounds |
abstract | Abstract of the Disclosure In processes for the deuteration and /or tritiation of cyclic organic substrates by hydrogen substitution, the substrate is subjected at a temperature of between about 200°C and 400°C to the effect of a 0.10% to 10% V/V dilute solution of a strong acid in the respective oxide constituting the isotope pool for the exchange. A deuterated or tritiated acid may be used. Rapid exchange in the ring and high yields are obtained with apparent freedom from side reactions and decomposition. |
