abstract ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE 1,2,4-Oxadiazole and thiadiazole esters are disclosed of the general formula or wherein A is oxygen or sulfur, R1 is lower alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms, benzyl, substituted benzyl wherein the substituent is nitro, lower alkyl having 1-6 carbon atoms or halogen, lower alkenyl having 1-6 carbon atoms, furylmethyl, cyclopentenylmethyl, cyclopentylmethyl, cyclohexenylmethyl, cyclohexylmehtyl and R2 is the residue of a carboxylic acid selected from (+)-trans-chryssanthemumic acid, (?)-cis, trans-chrysanthemumic acid, dimethylcyclopropanecarboxylic acid, tetramethylcyclopropane-carboxylic acid, dihalocyclopropanecarboxylic acid. These esters are useful as insecticides.
