ABSTRACT This invention provides a method for inhibiting the nitrification of ammonium-nitrogen in soil by treating the soil with a com-pound having the formula X2CS3 or XS.CS.OR wherein X is Na, K or NH4 and R is alkyl. The invention also provides a fertilizer composition comprising the said compound in combination with an ammonium-nitrogen-containing fertilizer. |
