DIFLUOROMETHYLENE SUBSTITUTED PROSTAGLANDIN DERIVATIVES Abstract of the Disclosure Novel antimeric or racemic prostaglandin derivatives having a difluoromethylene group attached to the C-11,12 positions of the molecule, oxygenated functions at C-9 and C-15 and unsatura-tions at C-13 or at C-5 and C-13, which may be further substituted at C-15 by a methyl or ethyl group, the C-20 nor- or bisnor- derivatives and certain C-20 alkyl derivatives thereof, processes for the production of such compounds and novel and useful intermediates obtained thereby. Also included are the methyl esters of the carboxylic acid function and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. These compounds possess prosta-glandin-like activities and thus are useful in the treatment of mammals, where prostaglandins are indicated. |
